We only sharpening hairdressing scissor and kitchen knives – that’s all. We sharpen all brands, models, styles and sizes of hairdressing scissors, including thinners and lefties. And the same goes for knives; we sharpen all makes and types of kitchen knives, except for knives with a serrated edge such as bread knives or steak knives. We don’t sharpen weapons, garden tools, embroidery, kitchen or dressmaking scissors, or any other bladed items.
Our minimum charge for knife sharpening is £49.95, and that gets you up to ten knives sharpened. Additional knives are charged at £4.99 per blade. We sharpen and service hairdressing scissors for £32.50 per pair.

Yes. We’re unable to repair broken handles but can tackle any other bladed issue such as chips, nicks or broken tips.
It depends on a few factors – most importantly, how much you use your knives and how sharp you really want your knives to be. We sharpen for some commercial kitchens monthly, while we see others a few times a year. When you reach a point where you feel like your knives aren’t cutting like they used to, you should think about getting them sharpened.
Sorry, we’re unable to meet customers at our offices for sharpening services – we offer a mobile sharpening service only. We don’t have a fixed workshop for dropping off items for sharpening and can’t accomodate this at our office. It’s quick and easy to sort an appointment and we can come to your home or place of work – whichever’s easiest for you.
Unless you’re a skilled sharpener, we don’t recommend buying any specialist kit to sharpen your knives at home. If these really worked, we’d be out of a job! Using a whetstone when you don’t know what you’re doing can cause serious damage to your blades. All we recommend you do is hone your knives with a ceramic rod or steel in between professional sharpenings. You can read about how we recommend you best care for your knives between sharpenings here.
We don’t sharpen swords or weapons of any kind, including display pieces or items for decorative use. We specialise in sharpening kitchen knives and professional hairdressing scissors only.
While we’re more than happy to sharpen three knives, our minimum charge covers up to ten blades. If you’ve only got three, we’d recommend asking a friend or neighbour if they’ve any knives that could use some attention too so you get the best value from our service.
Our scissor sharpening service is fully comprehensive, and is perfect for bringing your scissors back to their former glory. Scissors are stripped down and sharpened and honed by hand, then any worn or damaged parts are replaced. They’re rebalanced and aligned before being checked and tested and then handed back. We always make sure your scissors keep their convex edge. You can read more about our scissor sharpening process here.

We can certainly have a go, but it depends on how extensive the damage is. Occasionally we come across a pair that have been damaged beyond repair but most of the time we can get them sorted.
