Our Postal Scissor Sharpening Process

We offer the same expert sharpening and servicing process used in our mobile scissor sharpening service. Each pair of scissors is handled by an experienced scissor specialist using professional sharpening and honing equipment, and is carefully assessed before being stripped down and sharpened freehand. Freehand sharpening allows us to maintain the exact angle of your scissors blades – and achieves a finish that traditional grinding machines simply can’t match. Any damaged or worn parts are replaced, and your scissors are carefully reassembled. Finally, each pair of scissors is tested on real human hair to ensure they’re cutting perfectly.

We’ve kept the postal sharpening process as simple as we can. When you book the service, you’ll receive an email confirmation with instructions on how to package your scissors for posting and where to send them to – please note that our address for postal sharpening isn’t the same as our office address shown elsewhere on our website.

You’ll need to remember to include your contact details and order number in the package, and of course make sure your scissors can’t puncture or split the packaging. We recommend using Royal Mail Tracked 24 or 48 with the appropriate level of insurance. Many carriers, such as Evri, don’t allow scissors to be sent through their networks at all, and won’t compensate you if the package is deemed lost.

Once received, your scissors are professionally sharpened before being returned to you by Royal Mail. Return postage is included with insurance cover up to £75. Optional upgraded insurance is available for added peace of mind.
